Noche estrellada, Edvard Munch Dimensions (inches):34 x 35" Painting The Fishing by JoaquínIt depicts the view from a window, on a summer night, from a hotel in the small coastal town of sgrdstrand, Norway. Far from attempting a realistic portrayal of the landscape, the artist intended to capture feelings of melancholy and establish a contrast between light and shadows, which is accompanied by the texture of the work itself. Very dense painting in the shadow and the canvas is practically bare in the brightest part.
